Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice Finishes April 14th

A BBQ celebration Sunday hosted by Folsom Harley-Davidson marks the conclusion of a two week cross country and back ride for Kross Kountry-4-Kids A Journey-4-Justice.  The Army Of Angels,the International Child Abuse Prevention Task Force, Folsom HOG and dozens of other groups will be in attendance at the event scheduled from Noon until 3:00 P.M.  The runs accomplishments, reviewing the current call to action over the next year to better protect children and making some major announcements about Kross Kountry-4-Kids 2014. will be covered.

Memorial Medical Center Cancer Services Program Offers Many Opportunities for Healing

This Spring, Sutter Health’s Memorial Medical Center plans a full schedule of activities for cancer patients, their families and supporters. The schedule includes cancer screening events, complementary therapy programs and a new cancer survivorship conference.

“Our Cancer Services programs and activities are designed to provide everyone in our community a variety of ways to deal with a very emotional and complex health topic,” said Cheryl Casey, Community Outreach Coordinator for Memorial’s Cancer Services. “We will provide valuable information, and offer cancer survivors and their supporters many different opportunities to be active and involved in positive activities on a regular basis, surrounded by those who care about their well-being.”

The programs provide activities for everyone involved in the healing process: cancer survivors, their family members, caregivers and health care providers.

Farm Watch responds to rise in ag thefts and break-ins

The big crowd at the Dan Ramos Community Center in Hilmar was all the proof anyone needed if they were wondering whether crime is a concern in rural areas. Close to 100 farmers were there on a Tuesday night in late February to meet with law enforcement to find out what police are doing about the increase in thefts and home invasions in Stanislaus and Merced counties and how they can help.
