MODESTO, Calif. 8/27/2012 – Over the past three years Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC) has expanded its services and added more staff to fill the increasing needs in Modesto. In order to continue cost-efficient operations, the Modesto Office and Girl Scout Shop have moved to a new building at 5172 Kiernan Court, Suite D in Salida—just in time for the 2012-2013 Girl Scout year.

The new space is at a more accessible location near Highway 99 and also accommodates a larger Girl Scout Shop with extended hours effective Sept. 1. Girl Scouts and troop leaders can purchase books, badges, uniforms and other Girl Scout gear at the shop.

Beginning Sept. 1, the new Girl Scout Shop hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Modesto Office hours remain Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stanislaus County exhibit at the California State Fair

Stanislaus County exhibit at the California State Fair

The Stanislaus County exhibit display at the California State Fair in Sacramento is pretty cool. I had a chance to see it at the Fair's opening day. I really liked how it showcased products that come from the area.

If you plan to make it out to the fair, check out Exhibit Building A on the bottom floor to see all of the county displays. You can tell everyone involved put a lot of effort into representing the charm of each individual county.
