KAT Country given honor from CMA

MODESTO, CA -- KAT Country 103FM in Modesto has always been a radio station to be proud of, and that community pride is about to burst in a matter of days.

KAT Country has been named the Country Music Association's medium-market station of the year and will be recognized Wednesday at the CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.  News10 and ABC will carry the broadcast starting at 8 p.m

Program director Nikki Thomas was at San Francisco International Airport Saturday waiting for her flight to Nashville when we chatted over the phone. "It's such a big deal for KAT Country and our listeners," Nikki said.

If you're a KAT Country listener, you already know why the radio station won the honor. The CMA award recognizes the station's overall quality and performance (consistently high ratings), and its involvement with the community (KAT Country's commitment is huge).

KAT Country has worked for years on behalf of Toys for Tots, St.
