Modesto burglary suspect shoots at pursuing biker | Crime

MODESTO, CA (AP) - A suspected burglar being chased by an alert California neighbor on a motorcycle pulled a gun and shot at the pursing biker.

The Modesto Bee (http://bit.ly/KOFflu ) says the suspect's two shots missed the motorcyclist.

The burglar suspect was picked up by an accomplice in a Honda and eluded capture.

Investigators say two men knocked on the door of a Modesto home on Tuesday and, when no one answered, they went into the backyard. They were spotted by a neighbor and they ran away.

One suspect got into a Honda and drove off while the other suspect kept running.

Another neighbor spotted the commotion and hopped on his motorcycle to join the chase.

The armed suspect then turned and fired at the motorcyclist.
