1,600 plants seized in Modesto pot raid
MODESTO, CA - More than 30 Stanislaus DEA agents and sheriff SWAT deputies executed a search warrant on the 1900 block of Service Road in Modesto around 7 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators say they found more than 1600 large marijuana plants in an outdoor grow area set up behind a disheveled home. During the raid, detectives said they arrested 12 men working or living on the property.
Officials spent most of Thursday afternoon chopping down and bundling up more than 30 large bushels of marijuana plants.
The grow was large enough to fill nearly three dump trucks full of plants.
