Teen killed, man wounded in Modesto shooting | Crime

MODESTO, CA - A 14-year-old boy was killed and a 23-year-old man wounded in a shooting in Modesto on Sunday night.
Lieutenant Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Conant Avenue around 10:45 p.m. in response to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located the shot teen in the front yard of a home. He was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries, said Armendariz.
While officers were at the hospital, the 23-year-old man arrived with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
According to Armendariz, an initial investigation into the shooting indicated the gunshot victims were together in front of the home on Conant Ave. when a group of individuals confronted them. During the confrontation, at least one of the approaching individuals fired several shots, hitting the teen and the adult.
Crime Scene Investigators and homicide detectives processed the scene but had limited leads on the case.
