Modesto High lockdown lifted following arrest | Crime

MODESTO, CA - Modesto High School was placed on voluntary lockdown Wednesday morning while police searched for a man who ran from officers in the area of H St. and 2nd St.

Lieutenant Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department said the man, possibly matching a general description of the individual sought for sexually assaulting a woman at a Modesto park on October 20, ran from officers upon contact around 11 a.m.

Officers, with the assistance of helicopter and K9 units located and apprehended the person at approximately 11:48 a.m.
