CERES, CA - Two men were taken into custody Thursday in connection with the armed robbery of a Ceres man who answered a Craigslist ad to buy a car.

The robbery took place Wednesday about 6 p.m. At Walnut and Central Avenue, said Carissa Higginbotham, spokeswoman for the Ceres Police Department. The buyer wasn't hurt but his wallet, cash and stereo equipment were taken.

Thursday, officers conducted a traffic stop at Service and Mitchell on the suspected robbers' vehicle. Jesus Diaz Jr., 32 of Ceres was in the vehicle. Officers also located another vehicle in the area and Noah De La Rosa, 19, of Modesto was in that car. Both men were detained for questioning in the robbery case.

Higginbotham said officers found Ecstasy pills from Del La Rosa.

MODESTO, CA - Modesto police announced with the aid of U.S. Marshals they located and arrested 31-year-old Jeremy Anthony Romero for an Oct. 14 shooting that killed a 15-year-old boy and wounded a 23-year-old man.

Romero was apprehended at a relative's home in San Lorenzo without incident Tuesday, said Lt. Rick Armendariz.

Romero and previously arrested suspects Santos Joseph Garcia, 25, and Brian Storment, 18, face one count of murder and one count of attempted murder in the walk-up shooting on Conant Avenue.

The suspects are all from Modesto.

Detectives have not released the name of the teen who was killed nor a motive for the shootings.
