Smart Money @ Your Library

Learn how to better manage your personal finances with Smart Money at the Stanislaus County Library. Several libraries will be offering special financial programming April 17 – 27. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about managing 401Ks, applying for mortgages, saving for the future, establishing savings and checking accounts and more! All programs are free and provide an excellent opportunity to learn from local financial consultants and representatives. Programs are being held:

  • Ceres……………………………………………………………….. Monday, April 22 at 6 p.m.
  • Smart Money/Smart Ideas. A representative from H & R Block will discuss managing a 401K plan, how investing can reduce the amount paid in taxes, and new Health Care law information. This is a bilingual presentation.

Tax Talk at the Modesto Library

A representative from H&R Block will be speaking about taxes at the Modesto Library on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. This free talk will highlight new tax law changes, of which all taxpayers should be aware. The topics of dependents and Earned Income Tax Credits will also be discussed. This tax talk will help taxpayers increase their understanding of tax issues through discussion, explanation, and interactive questioning of tax topics. For more information, call the Modesto Library Reference Department at 558-7814.

Free Community Symposium - Cancer Survivorship: Moving Beyond Treatment

Memorial Medical Center’s Cancer Services is partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to hold a community event at our Health Education and Conference Center in Modesto.

Cancer Survivorship Symposium: Moving Beyond Treatment will be held Saturday October 20, 2012 from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm. This free event will feature a keynote speaker and discussion topics about common long-term effects of cancer and its treatment.

I am glad, grateful, and thrilled beyond words that August is over.


My love....

Oh goodness, it's been a year and a half since I've blogged.  That can't be good...I'm not even sure what I've actually been doing in that year and a half.  I do know I spend 10 days of that year in a half in Maui.....but I can't really recall what else I did?  Oh well. :)

I have been inspired to blog again.  Blog about something I love to do...something that I never thought I'd love but I fell in love with it after becoming a mom 9 and a half years ago.  Cooking!!  I absolutely love cooking. I love the hunt of a good recipe either online or the old fashion way.....a cookbook.  I love gathering the ingredients, and mixing my concoction.  But must of all, I love the looks on my fellas faces when they try something new!!  I am very blessed with good eaters.....they'll at least try something once, but normally will eat every last bite...
