DUI Arrests Up

The Winter Holiday Anti-DUI crackdown has resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 12 DUI deployments during the past several days in Stanislaus County.

From 12:01 AM Friday December 14, 2012 through Midnight Monday December 31, 2012 officers representing 12 county law enforcement agencies have so far reported the arrest of 122 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  In 2011 115 DUI arrests occurred during the 2012 holiday campaign time period.

For the final night of the campaign all regularly scheduled traffic and patrol officers will focus efforts at stopping and arresting DUI drivers during their normal shifts through the weekend and the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />CHP are deploying all available officers for their Maximum Enforcement Period ending midnight

Modesto Area Express (MAX) will provide limited bus service free of charge on Thanksgiving Day (November 22) to and from the Salvation Army Free Thanksgiving Dinner served at Modesto Centre Plaza. The bus service will be provided on the three routes shown at http://modestoareaexpress.com/announcements/.

Only one trip to the Modesto Centre Plaza will be made on each route at the times shown. All buses are scheduled to arrive at the Modesto Centre Plaza around 12:35 p.m. If a bus reaches passenger capacity enroute to the Modesto Centre Plaza, another bus will come back for those not able to board the first bus.

Buses will depart the Modesto Centre Plaza after the dinner at 2:30 p.m. and make one return trip for each of the same routes. Additional return trips will be made if all passengers cannot be accommodated on the first trip.

Modesto, CA - Officers from the Modesto Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy on Friday, November 16, 2012 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. and Sunday, November 18, 2012 between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests.
